For the Children

Besides her five delightfully fun bilingual children's books, Jane also offers another way to educate children about quilting, the Hispanic culture and book publishing, through school assemblies and classroom lectures.

The assemblies and lectures also include a slide reading of one of Jane's published books, and a quilt presentation that allows the children to see the finished product that they themselves can create from either The Tortilla Quilt, The Tamale Quilt, The Ants/Las Hormigas,
The Piñata Quilt or Confetti Eggs/Cascarones.

Jane also brings the process of book writing and publishing to your students and staff. From cover to cover discover how a book comes to life.

Why did I publish?
From the pen to the pitfalls of publishing, Jane will share her adventures of writing and publishing with you and your school.  Original artwork and quilts on display. 

All lectures and assemblies are offered in English only, and are limited to four presentation a day, ranging from forty-five minutes to an hour.
Fee:  $800 for three presentations

For the Adults

SummerJane not only offers lectures for children, but for adults also.  She is available for luncheon speaking engagements on such topics as the "Prizes and Pitfalls of Publishing".

Quilt-A-Beast Quilt-a-BeastThis is a humorous look at the fabric beast in all quilters.  From seasonal prints to classic calicos, you may discover that buying fabric is okay after all.  And who ever said you have to cut it up?  Stash the fabric, put it on that denim jumper and come share some laughter with all the other quiltabeasts.

The Life of a Designer No, it is not glamorous!  From bathrobes to blue ribbons, see how it all started.  You'll even get a peek into Jane's studio, and see how exactly she stores all that fabric!  Where do the ideas come from?  What comes first, the design or the fabric?
